Attitude of Gratitude

“Thankful am I for the colours around me,
The bright rising Sun is my Happiness Key,
Joyous am I when I am around this beautiful Nature,
Peace sinks in and here I completely set myself free.”

Attitude as defined by most of the existing dictionaries refers to “a settled way of thinking or feeling about something”. Now where is this settled thought or belief getting generated? It is certainly within our own minds and sub-conscious being. As our body grows and develops in proportion and response to what we feed it, our mental abilities and thoughts grow in response to what we feed in it through our perceptions, thoughts and external signals.

World has become more restless and temperaments are high – And WE constitute the world.

If we say that things are changing, people are changing, relationships are changing – we mostly refer to our (including own and the environment) beliefs and thoughts that are getting altered. Our ‘Attitude’ is the essence here as it guides us and monitors our responses to various cues that we come across in our day to day lives. Somewhere we have become more of complainants leading to negative emotions getting generated with high frequency. It is easier to find negative connotations attached to any event than to dig out the positive intention behind it. By doing this, we are becoming our own enemies in a way as we are feeding filth to our own brain which is the most powerful machine for any existing individual.

Minds need a DIET plan more than our bodies do because body follows orders of our minds. It is difficult to clean the river if the source of water flow coming to it, itself pushes garbage into it.

On one fine day, I heard an old man sitting in a park talk to himself (or the Lord) “When will I get rid of these pain; old age added with body pain and ailments is just like hell for me”. The very next moment there came a toddler who threw his arms around this old man and chuckled. The poor man, however, was still in the complaint zone and half-heartedly hugged the child back. I was wondering when pain can get so much of acknowledgement, why can the innocent joy that the child expressed upon meeting this old man, not be appreciated in a similar fashion.

‘Attitude of Gratitude’ is what we need to develop. How many times do we thank a waiter after he has served us? However if he delays the order or spills a drink over us, we instantly act to show discomfort. How many times do we thank the police man standing at traffic signal controlling the crowd in the rains or the hot sunny day? We are, however, very prompt in complaining if the traffic gets a bit unorganized due to his inability to manage some undisciplined drivers. Most importantly, how often do we thank our own selves for making us whatever we are today? We are, but, very active in complaining against what we are not and have loads of justifications attached.

All that this write up is meant for is that ‘Gratitude’ is a beautiful word. Once we start practising it with our own selves and with people around us, we can generate great levels of positivity around us.
‘Attitude of Gratitude’ is a must try to make this world beautiful!

With this, I thank you for sparing your precious moments in going through my thoughts here!

Keep Shining!! J J

I AM MY BEST COMPANION

Standing beside the enlightened street, looking at the crowd so busy, I try to find myself a friend to share my laughter and pain; Partying with friends and dancing in the music so noisy, I still long for a quiet and comfort filled evening, with that dear companion. Many a times we feel lonely and not too often does this loneliness give us a feeling of strength or positivity. It is true that humans are social animals and we live on the concept of inter-dependency and lack of it shifts our position from the zone of comfort. We need people around us and we bind with them through various relations, some of which are made by God and others by us. In this entire scenario of social ecosystem, do we often realize that we are somewhere distancing ourselves from the most relevant network which can work wonders for us. We are infact getting away from our own selves and from the central processing unit of our existence – our Mind, our Sub conscious network. It is very true that ...

Its Not New for Me....... To Aspire

It’s not New for me …… To Aspire Hey Friends, on most of the occasions when we feel low, we tend to feed some terrible thoughts into our minds – ‘Nobody understands me’; ‘My situation is the worst’; ’No body supports me’ and many other similar customized versions. When I say terrible , the word derives its suitability from the outcome which is created by these small simple sentences. Our mind loses positivism and brain is engulfed with all un-resourceful thoughts and beliefs too. While most of us realize sooner or later, that the particular situation was just another phase; the harm of the moment and some outcomes created then - can never be reversed. On the other hand, positive thoughts not only create a resourceful state of mind but also give us ability to design a solution oriented path. The challenge comes when we are required to develop this condition when external factors seem to go against our desired conditions. I would like to leave you all with a small crea...
